Dr. Áine Lombard,

Dr. Áine Lombard is a highly qualified and experienced Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Since moving to Scotland from Ireland in 2011, she has worked in a variety of settings; from community and charitable organisations, to universities and healthcare centres.

Dr. Lombard’s primary role over the last five years has been working in the NHS engaging with adults exhibiting various presentations and levels of severity. As a result of this experience she developed specific interests in working with individuals experiencing and adjusting to long term physical health conditions, addiction difficulties and with trauma/abuse backgrounds. Furthermore, Dr. Lombard has amassed vast experience in working with other psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, OCD and PTSD. This experience has honed her knowledge and skill set in such a way as to enable precise and trustworthy assessments, formulations and planned treatments, while always providing a client-centric approach to working.

Dr. Holly Trengrouse,

Chartered Counselling Psychologist

Dr. Holly Trengrouse is an experienced Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Within her practice, Holly is competent in working with individual adults, adolescents, children from aged 5, couples and families, whom display a variety of presentations and levels of severity.  Holly has a wealth of experience gained from settings such as NHS, community and charitable organisations and educational settings.

From these, Dr. Trengrouse is well versed in working with a wide range of issues and problems including: depression/low mood; anxiety; stress; chronic illness; chronic pain; cancer; bereavement/grief; sexual health; LGBTQIA+; gender or identity; relationships; trauma; childhood sexual abuse; addictions; life transitions; low self-esteem; and many other psychological difficulties and issues.

Dr. Trengrouse works in a collaborative way with each client and endeavours to tailor the approach to suit the needs of each individual in support of their goals. She offers a variety of short-term and longer-term evidenced-based approaches including: Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). As a Counselling Psychologist, Dr. Trengrouse’s knowledge and skills facilitates thorough and empowering assessments, formulations and treatment plans, whilst striving to help the client realise their full capabilities and potential.

Dr Freya Kennedy

Counselling Psychologist

Dr. Freya Kennedy is a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. Dr Kennedy offers a range of therapeutic interventions integrating acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy, schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused therapy, and person-centred therapy. Dr Kennedy’s approach to therapy focuses on collaborating with her clients to find a tailored approach that meets their needs and goals for therapy.

Dr Kennedy is trained and competent to work with trauma (all presentations), OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, grief, bipolar disorder, and presentations relating to life transitions (e.g. Transitioning to civilian life, relationship breakdown, gender transition, and health diagnoses). Dr Kennedy has advanced experience working with survivors of trauma including veterans, survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence, and intimate partner violence. As such, Dr Kennedy is able to offer specialised interventions at all stages of recovery.

Dr Kennedy has gained experience in the NHS and charitable organisations, and as such practices in an evidence-based way, to the highest standard of professional proficiency. Dr Kennedy has a warm and open manner, and aims to encourage her clients to achieve their goals through empowering their resilience and capacity for growth.

Accreditation

The HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) is the governing body which all psychologists in the UK must register with in order to practice. The British Psychological Society is a representative body for Psychologists and Psychology in the United Kingdom. It is responsible for the promotion of excellence and ethical practice in the science, education, and application of the discipline. Practitioner Psychologists registered with the British Psychological Society receive Chartered membership.
